Rheem, the trusted name in water heating for over 60 years, has introduced new innovations in solar water heating, including solar gas. Rheem has developed a new generation of solar water heaters, which reduce household energy costs and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. Solar Loline Gas The solar Loline gas model is a new concept in solar water heating. Featuring fully automatic time controlled gas boosting during periods of lower solar gain, the full benefits of gas water heating are maintained.
The Loline gas water heater has lower greenhouse gas emissions. Rheem's all copper absorber panel and Chrome Black selective surface are designed to draw maximum heat from the sun. The efficiency and superior performance of Rheem's gas boosted solar Loline makes it equivalent to a nine star water heater*. Solar Loline Electric The new Rheem solar Loline electric models provide the flexibility of indoor or outdoor location of the storage tank. The booster element is suitable for connection to either an Off Peak or Continuous power supply, for heating during periods of low solar energy from the sun. The booster can be controlled manually with either Rheem's One Shot Control, which allows a single boost at the press of a button, or a simple on/off switch.
The range includes 270, 340 and 430 litre models New Collectors All of Rheem's solar water heaters utilise patented sequential freeze collector design which incorporate unique tapered riser tubes, providing a passive freeze protection system#. This eliminates the need for drain down valves and heat transfer fluids normally required with roof mounted systems. Renewable Energy Certificates The Federal Government, as part of its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, has introduced an initiative to encourage more people to install solar hot water systems, by creating Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). REC's are applicable to all installations of solar water heaters in new buildings and where an electric water heater is replaced in an existing building. Replacing an existing gas water heater is not eligible for REC's. The scheme covers all of Australia and brings a financial benefit to the owner, meaning a lower overall cost for a solar water heater. Combine this with the State Government incentives where available and the savings continue to grow. Refer to the Simple Selection Guide to see if you are eligible for RECs, as conditions do apply. * Based on modelling to AS4234 when installed with 2 solar collectors in zone 3, and comparing the minimum
