The Federal Government announced the end of the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme (REBS) on Tuesday 28th February, 2012.

Eligible solar and heat pump water heater installations ordered and paid for in part or full by the 28th February 2012 which are installed after the 28th of February, 2012 have until the 30th June 2012 to submit their claim. Systems installed before the 28th of February, 2012 must submit a rebate claim within 122 days of installation.

There are a variety of rebate and financial incentive schemes that exist at both a Federal and State level across Australia. Depending on what type of water heater is being replaced, and which new system is being installed, some of these rebates can be combined to provide substantial savings.
